Day 6

Day 06- Earliest thing you can remember
~~
My dad is holding me and my family is gathered at my Nana's house for a party I guess. Everyone is in the kitchen. Someone holds a bag of chips out to me, so I take one out and take a bite. Not sure how I felt about it, so I put it back. Everyone laughed and went "oh nooo, don't put it back!"

Lame, I know~ XD

Day 5

Day 05- A thank you letter to someone who has changed your life

~~

I want to pick my boyfriend, Matt.

Just before we had really started talking, I had ended a very difficult relationship, and was at the end of another terrible one. I was so ready to give up with trying to find that "Prince Charming." Yeah, to me, emotional abuse was normal in a relationship, and I got used to being the only one who put time into anything for two people. I convinced myself that I was supposed to act a certain way in order to be loved. I found that I could never say what I wanted, be what I wanted, do what I wanted without scrutiny. I thought I felt love, but it was nothing.

You are the perfect man. You are a Prince. When you and I were flirting and giggling, I was never so nervous. I could see it in your eyes, too. Since then, I couldn't stop thinking of you, and I haven't stopped. Do I deserve such grace, kindness, and love? Laughing together, laying together, crying together is the best time of my life. Every morning, you are my first thought, and your goodnight kiss lulls me to sleep. You've made me happy, you've made me confident, you've made me whole. I love you so much.

Day 4

Day 04- What you imagine paradise to be like

~~~
My paradise is the beach. A long, open beach with a gentle breeze. Waves come and go along the shore, making the most beautiful sound. The most ideal time is early dusk, when the sky is still bright, but has turned purple, red, orange, and yellow. The sand is so fine, it is almost powder. My skin is warm from the day's sun with just a tinge of color. My hair is blown from the sea, my feet are sandy.
OMG, where is my margarita?
LOL
Day 3
Day 03- The five songs you would have with you on a desert island and why
This is so unbelievably hard to do... but here are some good ones~
~~~

Rainbow - Ayumi Hamasaki
This song is about running away from yourself because you can't accept who you are. It teaches you that the inner strength you've longed for has always been inside of you. I think that's important~ The line that gets me is "No rain, can't get the rainbow." To me it means 'without hardship, you'll never get the reward at the end." Basically, if you don't experience pain or sadness, you won't know what it means to be happy and will never be happy. That's important.

Wasurenaide (Don't forget) - Tohoshinki
It's kind of a typical "I miss you, we broke up" song, but something about it is extra sad to me. The lyrics kind of suggest that the singer has died...

I’ll become the wind and wrap gently around you
Right now, I want to fly to a world with you in it
Even though I want to see you so much… I miss you so much…
I’m waiting for you, don’t forget me

Keep Tryin' - Hikaru Utada
It's all in the title: keep trying. The lyrics are really humorous but deliver a message that's pure. Utada points out that being money hungry isn't good for you. And if you only dream of being a politician, that's kind of sad. Also, that love should be love, no matter if your hubby is rich or just a plain business man. So no matter your situation, make the best of it and keep tryin'.

Hi no Tori (Phoenix) - Mika Nakashima
I think this was the first ever Japanese song I heard, or at least the first PV I saw... I can't remember. But I was mesmerized but it. Hi no Tori is a soft, mystical song somewhat cryptic in its message, but if you listen, your heart will understand.

To Zanarkand - Nobuo Uematsu / Final Fantasy X
This piano piece grips my heart every time I hear the first note. It's a piece that symbolizes a lost past, broken memories, new relationships, new memories and an unknown future. As unknown as this future may be, keep going, because people need you.

Inexpensive Accessories

Diamonds, pearls, roses, hearts, bows, lace, ribbons, wings and crowns! These are just a few things that we Himes must have in our jewelry boxes. But honestly, it can get a little expensive.

I live in New England, and there's a small chain store here called "Temptation." Everything in this store sparkles and is completely gorgeous, but is really quite a steal as far as price goes! If you can find this store, please check it out!

Awesome wing ring - $9.99

Crown bobby pin - $1.99
I also bought a pearl necklace ($9.99) and a lace headband ($3.99). If you search, you can find some great stuff.

Etsy.com is a great website also. It's kind of like an ebay of things hand-made by people. Just search "hime" or "gyaru" and you'll find tons of things!

Ayu

Hime Wedding Dresses

My mother has recently become obsessed with the show "Say Yes to the Dress" and as a result, she's shown me tons of wedding dresses. Although I'm far from getting married just yet, I have noticed a new trend:
Pink Dresses
Yes! I don't mean hot pink or fuschia, bleh! That's tacky. Just pale pink and jewels to adorn these beautiful gowns. And of course, a ball gown design is perfect for your Princess ideals.

I really adore these! Hopefully someday soon my guy will pop the question ;)

Ayu

I got my Circle Lenses!

Side-by-side comparison. L-eye: With lens. R-eye: No lens.

Haunting ;) (I look so pissed >_>;)
Finally, the Circle Lenses I ordered have arrived :) I have 25/21 vision (more than perfect ;) ) so I did not order my lenses with any strength. Also, I have never worn contacts in my life, ever. It was a little difficult to get them in, but my boyfriend, bound to contacts, was a good teacher. I am comfortable with touching my eyes, so I got it after about 20 minutes.

I'm really in love with these contacts! I know that these aren't the best pictures, so I'll try to upload a better one tonight. They look so good, though. I'm getting used to them, too. They're getting more and more comfortable as the day wears on.

My eyes almost look soulless, but I think that's kind of cool and sexy ;)

Please post pictures of yourself with circle lenses! I want to see :)

Ayu

Beauty Secrets: Taking care of Hime hair

Let's face it; Hime hair goes through some MAJOR stress! Heated and burned with curling and flat irons, clipped and pulled with bows and accessories, and drowned in hair spray. Growing long hair isn't easy, especially with all of the mean things we do to our hair. But you can nourish your hair daily and protect it so it can stay soft and avoid damage as much as possible.

Use a heat-recovering shampoo & conditioner:
Look for products that are special for those who use heated styling items frequently. TRESemme makes a great set that I use that is inexpensive and easy to find. This formula concentrates on restoring moisture to your thirsty head. I notice extra softness with this versus a regular conditioner because I curl my hair almost daily. Give it a try!

Protect your hair before styling:
If you've ever used a flatiron, you may have noticed a steam come off your hair. Yeah, that's not good. That is moisture literally being sucked out of your precious hair.  Using a special cream or spray before using a heated product will protect that from happening. No burning will result! Plus, your hair will be less frizzy and more shiny once you're done.

Take a day for your hair to relax:
At least one day a week, do nothing with your hair. That's right! After washing, let it dry naturally. Give it a break from all products and let it air out. If you want extra softness, condition your hair and place a shower cap on your head for a few hours to really let the conditioner soak in. Wash it out with cool water and the softness with amaze you.

Have fun!

Ayu

Circle Lenses

Achieving a dolly-eyed look is essential for many Himes. Circle lenses, an Asian trend creeping its way into the Americas, are intended to make your irises look bigger as well as giving them bold colors. I've never worn contacts before, but I bought a pair yesterday so I am excited to give them a try! I will post pictures when they arrive :)
Check out yesstyle.com to see their circle lens collection!
I purchased this color, "Nudy Pink!"

You can see how much bigger the eyes look :)
Of course, there is controversy with these. Like all contacts, they can scratch your eye. Make sure you take proper care of them, that's all. And don't wear them for longer than the maximum period allotted.
Also, make sure you are buying genuine lenses. GEO is a reputable brand that offers an authenticity check with each lens you buy.

Ayu
